Senior Resources will host the Golden Age Gala on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the USC Alumni Center. The gala is the capstone event to the agency’s commemorations throughout 2017 of its 50th anniversary. The event will include heavy hors d’oeuvres, open bar, silent auction, and live music by the Heart ‘n’ Soul band.
“Over the course of the past year, we’ve had several events to both celebrate our proud history of service to our elderly neighbors, and to raise awareness of the growing needs of the aging population,” said Senior Resources’ Executive Director Pam Dukes. “While the gala will be a fun and festive evening, the goal is to raise funds so that we can serve every senior who is waiting for Meals on Wheels or home care service.”
Tickets for the gala are $100 per person, or $150 per couple, and can be ordered here. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the event, which will be held from 6-11 p.m. Proceeds will support Senior Resources’ ongoing efforts to eliminate its waiting lists and provide service to all seniors in need throughout Richland County. The agency currently has a waiting list of more than 100 seniors and disabled adults who qualify for Meals on Wheels service.
The Golden Age Gala’s presenting sponsor is BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. Other sponsors include Mungo Homes, The State Newspaper, All About Seniors, Colonial Life, SCE&G, McNair Attorneys, Cyberwoven, AllSouth Federal Credit Union, South State Bank, Jimmy & Patti Addison, First Citizens Bank, Nephron Pharmaceuticals, Scott & Corley PA, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, HUB, Southern Valet, Ray & Karen Tanner, Pam & Craig Dukes, and the Fuess/Friedenberg Family Fund.
