Independence is Happiness

It’s Independence Day!

The Fourth of July, otherwise known as Independence Day has a special meaning. It is, of course, about our great country gaining independence from British rule. For the clients of Senior Resources, every day is Independence Day. The services we offer — from volunteer programs placing low income seniors in community settings, to Meals on Wheels, to home care — are all intended to keep seniors independent in their homes as long as possible. Every day that we are able to assist a senior to remain independent is a success.

Susan B. Anthony, a 19th-century American social reformer who was committed to social equality, said that independence is happiness. Although Ms. Anthony was referring to a different type of independence, probably not a single one of our seniors would argue with the statement that independence is happiness.

To continue the independence that is happiness, we need your help.  Please consider volunteering to deliver meals or making a donation to help us provide more services to more seniors. The feeling of helping them maintain independence will become your happiness!
