After growing up in Illinois and New Jersey, Winston earned a bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Notre Dame. She spent nearly 10 years as a journalist, covering education and healthcare at the Charleston (W.Va.) Daily Mail and the (Spartanburg, SC) Herald-Journal.  She joined the Senior Resources team in 2013 as a grant writer, and later took on an expanded role as Communications Coordinator.

Winston and her husband, Chris, live in Lexington with their two sons. She has been an active volunteer on her school’s PTA board and through her church. Winston replaces Daniel Casillas, who spent two years in the position, but is leaving the agency to return to his home state of Texas.
