Bank of America Donates $15,000 to Senior Resources’ Meals on Wheels Program

Thank you to Bank of America for your generous donation of $15,000 to Senior Resources’ Meals on Wheels program. As we face this worldwide pandemic, your support is vital to our ability to continue to provide these life-sustaining services to our home-bound senior citizens in our community. In the past three weeks, we have been able to deliver over 7,800 meals directly to the homes of this vulnerable group of clients that we serve.

As the only provider of Meals on Wheels in Richland County, we are committed to staying open at Senior Resources and providing our elderly neighbors the services they need.  Support from organizations like Bank of America, enable us to continue our mission at Senior Resources. Through services such as our Meals on Wheels delivery program, we strive to empower local seniors to remain healthy and to receive the daily nutrition that they need, even as we face this global crisis.

Last year, with the support of the community and our volunteers, we delivered nearly 170,000 meals to 1,000 of our elderly and disabled neighbors. In addition to meeting their nutritional needs, our Meals on Wheels program also addresses the social isolation felt by many of our clients. The daily visit from the Meals on Wheels volunteer is often the only interaction our clients experience each day, and it also serves as an important safety check. We cannot thank you enough for increasing our ability to address the two greatest risks our elderly neighbors face — hunger and isolation. We are grateful for your partnership!
