Help a senior this holiday season

Senior with caregiver with thanksgiving meal

As we approach the winter holidays, there are several ways you can bless one of our clients.

Adopt A Senior for Christmas

Families Helping Families has gathered holiday wish lists from our clients, and you can now "adopt" a senior for the holidays. Register here to receive a senior's wish list. Wrapped gifts need to be returned to the Families Helping Families warehouse by November 30. Our volunteers will deliver the gifts to our clients.

Deliver Meals on Wheels on Thanksgiving morning

We are seeking volunteers to pack and/or deliver Meals on Wheels on Thanksgiving morning. This is a great opportunity to involve the entire family in service to the community before you sit down for your Thanksgiving feast. Here's what you need to know:

When: Volunteers are needed to pack meals between 8 and 9:30 a.m. Volunteers are also needed to pick up meals for delivery between 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. It takes about an hour to deliver a route.

Where: We have two Meals on Wheels sites. You may choose whichever one is most convenient for you:

  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3909 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29205.
  • Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1715 Broad River Rd., Columbia, SC 29210.

To sign up: Contact our volunteer coordinator, Ann-Marie Polsley, at or 803-252-7734.
