Project Joy

Help bring a little extra joy to seniors this holiday season!

Project Joy is Senior Resources’ community-wide holiday collection for older adults we serve throughout Richland County. Each year, individuals, families, businesses, schools and community groups fill Project Joy boxes with thoughtful gifts to brighten the holidays for local seniors.

This year, our goal is to collect 1,000 gifts.

How to Participate

Pick up a Project Joy box at Senior Resources, 2817 Millwood Avenue, or the Lourie Center, 1650 Park Circle.

Fill your box with new, unopened, gender-neutral gifts. Ideas include cozy socks, scarves, books, puzzle books, toiletries, stationery, calendars, gift cards and other small items a senior might enjoy.

Make it personal by decorating your box or adding a handwritten card, drawing or cheerful note. Please do not wrap the box.

Return completed boxes to Senior Resources at 2817 Millwood Avenue by December 4.

What to Put in Your Box

Think of items that are cozy, fun, useful or simply something special. A few favorites include socks, lap blankets, books, small games, flashlights, lotion, shampoo, pens, notepads, greeting cards, calendars and gift cards.

All items should be new, unopened and gender-neutral. Please avoid anything that may leak, melt or break.

Whether you fill one box or organize a collection with your workplace, school, church or neighborhood, every gift helps make the season a little brighter for a senior in our community.
