It Started With Neighbors

Senior Resources began in 1967 with a small group of community members who saw older neighbors in need and decided to help. Volunteers gathered at a local church, prepared meals, drew delivery routes by hand and started delivering.

What began with just a few dozen seniors quickly grew. By the end of that first year, 484 meals had been delivered to 42 older adults. 

That simple act of neighbors helping neighbors grew into what is now Senior Resources, serving older adults across our community in more ways than those first volunteers could have imagined.

A lot has changed since those first hand-drawn routes. Today, meals are coordinated through database-generated routes, and over the decades, thousands of older adults have been served with the help of generations of volunteers.

But at its heart, the work is still the same: neighbors showing up for neighbors, just like they did from the very beginning.
