Runners Certified 5K Course              Walkers 3.2 Mile or 1.5 Mile Fun Walk Route

      

    The 2008 March for Meals 5K at Riverbanks Zoo broke several records with almost 900 in attendance.  Sixteen year old Gordon Andrew of Blythewood, SC was the first runner to cross the finish line.  For the 2nd year in a row, Amber Hines of Little Mountain, SC was the first female finisher.  Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and his daughter, McKenzie, served as honorary chairs.  

    Walkers received the Hare and the Tortoise awards for being the first walkers to complete 3.2 miles and for being the last person off the course.  Christy Linton and Allen Ceruti won The Hare awards for being the first walkers to finish in 2008 and Elijah Garcia ook home the The Tortoise award.

    March for Meals 5K participant Megan Stahlberger (in blue jersey) competes with the Brookland Cayce High School Cross Country Team.  Megan, who is in middle school, loves running and has been running in March for Meals since she was 6 months old!    Recently, she was chosen to The State newspaper's Class 3A all area team.
